Star Party ScienceWorks

  • ScienceWorks Museum 1500 E Main St Ashland, OR (map)

Southern Oregon Skywatchers is holding a Star Party at ScienceWorks in Ashland, in conjunction with the week-long ScienceWorks Astronomy Academy that ends Friday July 29th. The Academy attendees, ranging in age from 10-14, will be building their own Dobsonian scopes during the week, under the able tutelage of our own Dave Bloomsness. They will plan the Star Party, and then demonstrate their scopes Friday evening, starting at 8:30 PM. Club members are welcome to come and show their support, and bring their own scopes as well. We anticipate that the students will wrap up around 10:30 PM or so, but club members and the general public are welcome to stay longer, although the Museum will probably lock its doors at that time.
