Southern Oregon Skywatchers will hold a Perseid Meteor Shower Watch at the summer observing site on Upper Shale City Road, weather permitting. Currently, Thursday night shows as clear, but check the forecast before you go. Plan to arrive around dusk. This year's Perseid Shower promisees to be a good one, so don't miss this event. The best viewing should be after 1am when the moon has set. Be sure to bring a lawn chair so you can lean back and watch for meteors. Of course, bring scope and binoculars too, for when you aren't meteor hunting. There's also a rumor that there will be birthday cake after midnight....
